So I stumbled onto this place called About Art Apartments – Ovo during a weekend trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it’s one of those finds you want to keep secret but can’t help sharing. Tucked away on Podwale Street in the heart of Stare Miasto, it’s the kind of spot that locals probably walk past every day without realizing there’s a gem hiding upstairs. The building itself is one of those centuries-old Wrocław beauties – you know the ones, with that slightly crooked charm that makes everything feel authentic rather than polished.

The vibe here is definitely more boutique apartment than typical hotel – which actually worked out perfectly for our group of four. We had this gorgeous two-bedroom setup with original hardwood floors and these huge windows that overlooked the street below. I mean, waking up to watch people wander through the Old Town square with their morning coffee? That’s the kind of thing postcards try to capture but never quite manage. The art theme isn’t just in the name either – there are these carefully curated local pieces scattered throughout that actually feel thoughtful, not like the generic hotel art you forget the moment you leave. Check-in was smooth but not robotic, the owner actually bothered to tell us about a fantastic pierogi spot literally two doors down that I’m pretty sure most tourists would walk right past.

Location-wise, you can’t beat it – literally a two-minute stumble to the Market Square, but somehow About Art Apartments – Ovo manages to feel peaceful once you’re inside. That’s the thing about Wrocław’s Old Town, right? It buzzes during the day but actually gets surprisingly quiet after dinner. We were there in early October, which I’d recommend – summer crowds were thinning out but the weather was still perfect for wandering those cobblestone streets. Parking was a bit of a mission though, as it usually is in this part of town – there’s a garage about three blocks away that’ll run you roughly 25 złoty an hour, or you can try your luck with the street meters if you don’t mind hunting for a spot. The apartment itself had all the kitchen basics if you want to pick up groceries from the little market on Szewska Street – way cheaper than eating out every night, plus you get to chat with actual locals doing their shopping.
