Apartament 45 Overview
I just got back from a weekend at Apartament 45 and I have to say, it feels like a secret corner of Stare Miasto that only locals know. The building itself is this old, brick‑laden townhouse from the late 1800s, and the rooms are loft‑style, with exposed beams and that warm, almost industrial vibe you only get when you’re staying in a place that’s been around for decades. The lobby is small but cozy, and the staff greet you with a friendly “Dzień dobry” that immediately makes you feel part of the neighborhood. I mean, the way they still use the old‑school keycard system instead of the shiny keyless entry you see in newer hotels – it’s a little nostalgic, honestly. The check‑in is quick, but you do have to walk up the staircase to the fourth floor, which is a nice little workout before you can relax.
Walking out of the lobby, you step into a street that smells like fresh bread from the bakery at Rynek. The sound of trams gliding past, bicycles whizzing by, and the chatter of locals in Polish gives you that authentic Wrocław feel. There’s a great coffee shop just around the corner on Długa, and if you’re craving pierogi, the tiny family‑run place on Aleja Powstańców Śląskich is only a five‑minute walk away. The hotel’s proximity to the Market Square is perfect – you can stroll to the Cathedral or the Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia) without taking a taxi. The only downside? The street parking is a bit of a hassle. You’ll need to find a spot on Długa, and the meters can be pricey if you’re staying for a few days. But if you’re okay with a quick detour to a nearby parking garage, it’s not a huge deal.
Noise-wise, apart from the occasional traffic at rush hour, the building’s thick brick walls keep the city’s buzz at a reasonable level. You could even hear the distant rumble of the Wrocław tram network, but it’s not intrusive. The rooms themselves are surprisingly quiet, which is great if you’re a light sleeper. The bed is a generous queen‑size, and the linens feel like a cloud – no cheap synthetic stuff here. The bathroom is all marble and chrome, with a deep soaking tub that makes you want to stay in for a while. The only small critique? The Wi‑Fi signal can be spotty on the upper floor, so if you’re a digital nomad you might need to move a bit closer to the window or use the free hotspot in the lobby. All in all, gives you that old‑world charm, a convenient spot in the heart of the city, and a genuinely local experience that feels more like staying with a friend than a hotel stay.
Wroclaw’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historic charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this colorful Polish cultural center.
