Apartament Olszewskiego Overview

So I ended up staying at Apartament Olszewskiego last month when I was in Wrocław for a few days, and honestly, it was one of those finds that makes traveling so worthwhile. You know how sometimes you pick a place just because it looks decent on booking sites? Well, this one was right near the Centrum train station, which was perfect since I was dragging a suitcase and didn’t want to navigate the tram system with all my gear. The address is 74 Karola Olszewskiego – and don’t let the residential street fool you, because it’s actually this really quiet, tree-lined area where you can still hear yourself think, which was a nice change from the louder parts of Śródmieście.

The apartment itself is on the third floor of this older building, and while there’s no elevator (something to keep in mind if you’ve got mobility issues), the climb honestly wasn’t that bad. The owner met me at check-in with this warm, genuine vibe – not pushy or overly professional, just helpful. And the place? It felt lived-in, in the best way. Hardwood floors that creaked just enough to feel authentic, high ceilings, and these big windows that looked out over the neighborhood. There were little touches that showed thoughtfulness – like actual hangers instead of those flimsy plastic ones, a decent kettle, and even some local guidebooks left out. The kitchen had everything I needed to make coffee in the morning, which was important because I’m kind of particular about my caffeine routine. Oh, and the bed? Surprisingly comfortable – I mean, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star spot, but I actually slept really well there.

What really sold me on Apartament Olszewskiego was how it sat in relation to everything. Like, I could walk to the Market Square in about ten minutes, but if I wanted to grab something to eat nearby, there was this great little bakery called “Cukiernia Sowa” just a couple blocks away – seriously, their apple cake is worth the trip alone. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, so if you’re someone who wants to party until dawn, maybe look elsewhere. But for exploring the city during the day and coming back to a peaceful spot at night, it was ideal. I did notice that the shower pressure was a bit weak, and the Wi-Fi cut out a few times, but honestly, those are minor gripes. The location, the cleanliness, and just the overall feel of the place made it easy to overlook. Plus, it’s not in one of those tourist-trappy areas where every other shop is trying to sell you amber jewelry or whatever – it’s very much a local pocket of the city, which I appreciated. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Wrocław.
