Apartament przy Arsenale Overview

Apartament przy Arsenale sits on 38 Nowy Świat, right in the heart of Stare Miasto, and it’s honestly one of those places that feel more like a home than a hotel. I remember walking up the cobblestones, the smell of roasted chestnuts from a nearby kiosk mixing with the faint scent of the river, and that instant you know you’re in the right spot. The building itself is a 1930s tenement, so the architecture has a nice, old‑world vibe—think high ceilings, large windows that let in the late‑afternoon sun. The lobby is surprisingly spacious; there’s a vintage wall clock that ticks softly, and the reception desk is manned by a friendly lady who knows the local neighborhoods by heart. Check‑in is usually quick, but if you’re arriving after 9 pm, you might have to wait a bit longer for a key, so better to get a bit early if you can.

The rooms are a solid three‑star experience. I stayed in the 2‑bedroom suite, which has a surprisingly comfortable king bed – the linens are soft but not too fluffy, so you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub that’s perfect for winding down after a day of walking, and the tiles are glazed, so you can hear the faint clack of your slippers on them. The kitchenette is a bit compact, but it comes with a kettle, a small fridge, and a basic set of utensils – enough for a quick breakfast or a midnight snack. One thing that caught my eye was the small balcony that offers a view of the old town square; in the evenings, you can hear the chatter from the cafés and the distant hum of tram cars. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs because the street noise can be a bit loud during rush hour, especially from the side streets like Jagiellońska and Grzegorczyk.

Parking can be a bit of a hassle. There’s no dedicated parking for guests, so you’ll have to rely on street parking, which is free but limited and usually requires a meter. If you’re driving, I’d suggest parking a block away and walking, because the streets around Nowy Świat are bustling, especially on Saturdays and during the Christmas markets. The hotel actually offers a small partnership with a nearby garage on Aleja Mikołaja Kopernika – they’ll let you pay a bit extra for a spot, and it’s a relief if you have a lot of luggage. As for noise, aside from the street buzz, there’s a bar just a few steps away on Św. Tomasza that gets lively at night; the music can seep into the rooms, so if you’re a night owl, you might want to ask for a room on a higher floor. On the bright side, the building’s thick stone walls do a decent job at muffling the louder street traffic.

What I love most about is how it feels like a bridge between the past and the present. The walls are adorned with local art, and you can see the nearby Hala Stulecia from the second floor, which is a stunning sight during the spring when the cherry trees line the avenue. If you’re a foodie, you’ll appreciate the tiny bakery on Św. Tomasza’s corner that sells freshly baked pierogi – they’re authentic, and the aroma alone will make you want to order a plate. When you step outside, the city’s rhythm is right there: the clatter of bicycle wheels, the murmur of conversations in Polish, the occasional shout from a street vendor. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way.

In short, this place is perfect for travelers who want to immerse themselves in the everyday life of Wrocław without sacrificing comfort. The staff are genuinely helpful, the rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the location is unbeatable for anyone who loves to stroll through historic streets, pause for a coffee, and then keep exploring. If you’re planning a trip to the region, I’d definitely recommend staying here – you’ll come away with a deeper appreciation for the city’s charm and a few hidden spots that only locals know.

The location was amazing, just across the road from the old town and seconds away from places to eat, public transport stops and zabka.
The flat was extremely clean when we arrived and it is slightly roomier than the photos. This flat is only up one flight of stairs too which is a bonus. The double bed is extremely comfortable and the sofa bed is easy to set up.
