It’s tucked away on Kamienna Street, which is this quiet little stretch in Krzyki that most tourists completely miss – but locals will tell you it’s where you want to be if you’re trying to avoid the crowds around the Market Square. The building itself is one of those old Polish tenements, you know the type, with that worn brick facade and windows that don’t quite line up because they’ve been adjusted over the centuries. When you buzz up to apartment 20 on the second floor, there’s this lovely old lady who answers – I’m pretty sure she’s lived in Wrocław her whole life because she started chatting with me in this mix of Polish and broken English about how the city’s changed over the years.

The apartment is actually way more charming than I expected for an 8.2-rated spot – I mean, sometimes places with ratings like that feel a bit overhyped, but this one delivers. There’s this huge window that looks out over a small courtyard where you can hear the tram rattle by every twenty minutes or so, which sounds annoying but weirdly became part of the rhythm of my stay. The kitchen has this old-school Polish tile backsplash that’s probably original, and everything works – which, trust me, isn’t always a given in older European places. I made coffee every morning and just sat there watching people walk by, and there’s something really nice about that kind of slow start to the day. The bed was comfortable enough, though the mattress had that slight dip in the middle that told me it had seen some use – but hey, that’s kind of authentic, right? And the radiator made some noise when it kicked on in the morning, but it was never loud enough to actually bother me.

What really sold me on Apartament Stylowa Kamienica was how easy it made getting around the city. From here, it’s like a fifteen-minute walk to the train station, and there’s a tram stop literally two blocks away that’ll get you to virtually anywhere you need to go. I walked to the Panorama Racławicka one morning – took maybe twenty minutes – and stumbled upon this tiny bakery on Szewska Street that had the most incredible cheese-filled pastries. That’s the thing about staying in Krzyki instead of right in the Old Town center; you actually get to experience how people live here, not just how they present themselves to tourists. Parking can be a bit of a hunt if you’re driving, but there’s a lot right around the corner that’s only like 5 zloty an hour. The only real downside? Check-in was a bit scattered – the host seemed to be juggling three different things at once, so you might want to plan your arrival when they’re not super swamped. But honestly, for the price and the location, Apartament Stylowa Kamienica is exactly the kind of place I’d recommend to friends who want to feel like they’re actually staying in Poland, not just visiting it.
