Apartament z antresolą Nowa Papiernia Overview
So I stumbled across Apartament z antresolą Nowa Papiernia during one of my longer stays in Wrocław, and honestly, it’s one of those places that makes you rethink what you expect from a three-star accommodation. You know how some places just feel right from the moment you walk in? That was it. The apartment’s on the third floor of this unassuming building on Kościuszki Street – not the prettiest street in Krzyki, I’ll admit, but it’s got character, and you’re basically walking distance to everything you’d actually want.
The location is what really sold me, though. From Nowa Papiernia, you can hop on tram 3 or 8 right outside and be in the Market Square in like ten minutes, but honestly, I preferred just walking – there’s something satisfying about cutting through the back streets toward Uniwersytecka and popping out near the Centennial Hall. The neighborhood’s got this lived-in vibe that feels authentic, not touristy. There’s a decent bakery called Piekarnia Śląska just around the corner that does these amazing obwarzanki in the morning, and a couple of decent pubs if you want to grab dinner without going far. I mean, sure, Kościuszki can get a bit noisy during rush hour – you’ll hear the trams and some street traffic – but by 10 PM, it’s pretty peaceful up on the third floor.
What surprised me most was how thoughtfully the space was put together. The mezzanine design sounds gimmicky, but it actually works – the sleeping area upstairs feels cozy and separate, while the main room has this open, airy quality that kept me from feeling cramped during a four-day stay. The kitchenette had everything I needed, though I wish they’d mentioned that the building’s laundry facilities are coin-operated and sort of hidden in the basement (took me an embarrassingly long time to figure that out). Check-in was straightforward – the host left detailed instructions and met me briefly to hand over keys, which worked well since I arrived late. Parking’s tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car here. The area gets busy during university semesters – there’s a student dorm just down the road – so I’d imagine spring and fall are pretty hectic, but when I was there in early summer, Nowa Papiernia felt like a quiet retreat despite being surrounded by the city’s energy.
