The apartment itself is on the third floor – and yeah, there’s an elevator, thank god, because I was dragging my suitcase up those old building stairs in Krakow the night before and wasn’t keen to repeat that. When you open the door, there’s this lovely smell of fresh linen, and the whole place has this thoughtfully renovated feel. Not like someone just threw Ikea furniture everywhere, but actually picked pieces that work with the building’s character. The kitchenette is fully stocked with real coffee filters (not those weird European pods that never fit anything), and there’s a proper shower with decent water pressure – something you don’t always get in older European buildings. The bed? Honestly, it’s one of those rare hotel beds that doesn’t leave you questioning life choices the next morning.

What really sold me on Apartamenty Hexus though was the neighborhood vibe. Świdnicka 5/18 sits right where the action starts to get interesting – you’re close enough to the main square for convenience, but you’re also near some fantastic local spots that tourists usually miss. There’s this tiny wine bar called Trzy Rundy around the corner that’s run by this couple who actually know their stuff, and the guy there recommended this Polish natural wine that blew my mind. The area gets a bit lively in the evenings, but Apartamenty Hexus faces an interior courtyard, so it stays surprisingly quiet even on weekends. Check-in was smooth too – the host left detailed instructions but also a handwritten note with restaurant recommendations that actually seemed legit, not just the usual copied-and-pasted stuff. Parking’s tricky in that whole district, but there’s a garage about six blocks away that’s decently priced if you’re driving. I’d definitely come back here, especially since the rating’s 9.6 and I can see why.
