The building itself has this beautiful worn brick facade that sort of blends into the medieval vibe of the square, but once you get inside, the contrast is incredible.

The apartment is on the top floor, so there’s this winding staircase you have to climb – I mean, it’s not crazy steep or anything, but pack light if you’ve got knee issues. When you open the door to AS HOME Apartamenty, the first thing that hits you is this warm, almost woody scent – not artificial at all, just… clean. The space is exactly what you’d want – open, flooded with natural light from these huge windows that face the square, and honestly, the view from the balcony made me want to just sit there with coffee for hours. There’s this little detail I loved: the kitchen has this vintage-style espresso machine that actually works, and the host left locally-sourced coffee pods, which was such a nice touch. The bed? Perfect. Not too soft, not too firm – I actually slept better there than I have in months.

Location-wise, you can’t beat it. From AS HOME Apartamenty, it’s a two-minute walk to the entrance of the Market Hall – get there early on Saturday for the farmer’s market, seriously. There’s a spot called Pod Fredrą right across the square that serves the most incredible sour rye soup with duck, and the owner knows everyone. Noise-wise, I was worried about being right on the square, but the apartment is surprisingly quiet – the windows must be double-paned or something. You can hear the occasional street musician or church bells, but nothing that kept me up. Check-in was smooth, the host met me there around 3 PM and gave me this handwritten list of “local secrets” – places that aren’t in guidebooks. Parking is tricky in the Old Town, but there’s a garage about five minutes walk away that charges 20 zł per day, which is reasonable for the area. Honestly, if you’re planning a trip to Wrocław, I’d strongly consider this place over any chain hotel.
