AS HOME Apartamenty Rynek 50 R502 Overview

AS HOME Apartamenty Rynek 50 R502 is tucked right on the heartbeat of Wrocław’s Old Town, on the cobbled stretch of 50 Rynek. I walked in on a rainy Tuesday, the kind of drizzle that makes the market square feel like a watercolor painting. The front desk was a small, friendly affair—just a couple of locals chatting in Polish, but they welcomed me with a smile and a quick guide to the building’s quirks. Check‑in was quick, and I was handed a keycard that looked like it belonged in a sci‑fi film, yet it worked flawlessly. The elevator ride up to the third floor was a gentle, almost nostalgic glide, with a view of the old town’s spires framed in the glass.

The apartment itself is a surprisingly cozy slice of the city. The living area is big enough for a small sofa, a single bed, and a kitchenette that actually feels like a mini‑kitchen, not a cramped space. The wood floor creaks a bit when you walk on it—an honest, warm sound that you can’t help but appreciate. I found a small, vintage lamp in the corner that casts a soft, amber glow on the walls; it’s the kind of detail that makes the room feel like a home rather than a rental. The bathroom is modern, with a walk‑in shower that has a good flow—no micro‑shower heads that suck the water out of the room. The Wi‑Fi is surprisingly fast, which was a relief after a day of exploring the nearby Struga Street, where you can find some of the best pierogi in town.

Noise is something you might worry about in a city centre, but honestly, it’s pretty quiet after 10 pm. The street outside is a blend of the distant hum of traffic and the occasional blast of a jazz trio from a nearby bar. If you’re an early‑morning person, the city’s bells ring from St. John’s Cathedral, and you’ll hear the bells echoing across the square—an experience that’s oddly comforting. Parking can be a hassle; there’s a small paid lot on the corner of Rynek, but if’re okay with a short walk, you can find a free spot in the narrower lanes of Odrzańska Street. I’d recommend grabbing breakfast at the café on Słowackiego, just a two‑minute walk from the hotel—great coffee and a croissant that melts in your mouth. If you want to stay in the city, I’d suggest visiting the Hala Stulecia on days when the exhibition inside isn’t full; the glass façade looks like a lighthouse on a quiet evening.

Overall, staying at felt like stepping into a familiar friend’s living room—warm, welcoming, and just the right size to keep you comfortable without feeling cramped. The only real downside is the price during peak tourist season; the apartment charges a bit more in July and August, but that’s to be expected in a place that’s practically situated in the middle of the city’s history. The real value comes from the location’s authenticity—just a stone’s throw from the market square’s bustling stalls, the historic Wroclaw Town Hall, and the street musicians on Słowackiego. If you’re planning a trip to Wrocław, I’d say book a room here, get a morning coffee at the café, and let the city’s rhythms make the rest of your day.

Very central as the apartment is located directly above the main square surrounded by restaurants and bars. A highlight was the bakery directly next to the apartment. The two bathrooms were also useful as we travel in a group of five people. It definitely was a great stay and easy to access.

  • Ursula from Germany (9/10)
