Brick Castle – Apartament Ulrich Overview
Brick Castle – Apartament Ulrich sits on Poniatowskiego Street, right in the heart of Śródmieście, so you can practically feel the city pulsing through the building. I remember walking up to the front door on a rainy Thursday, the glass panels reflecting the neon glow of the nearby market stalls at Książkowa. The lobby is surprisingly cozy, with exposed brick walls that give it a rustic vibe—yes, the hotel’s name is a nod to that. The staff greeted me with that friendly, almost conspiratorial “We’ve got the best corner in town,” and the keycard was handed over in a sleek plastic sleeve that looked like it belonged in a sci‑fi movie. Check‑in was quick, but I had to ask about the elevator because it’s a bit of a climb: a 12‑step stairwell that you can’t skip without a little sweat (the building’s old, but the elevator’s still good, just a bit slower than the modern ones you see on the high floors).
After that, I headed up to the apartment to get a feel for the space. The room itself is a mix of modern minimalism and Polish charm: the walls are painted a muted teal, and a big, comfy sofa faces a wall of windows that open onto the bustling street. The view? You can see the cathedral’s spire poking through the skyline, and at night, the city lights flicker like a million tiny stars. The bed is a real treat—plush, with thick linens that smell faintly of lavender from a nearby florist on Wrocław’s famous market square, and the mattress is firm enough that you wake up without a single back ache. The bathroom, though small, is a clean splash of white with a shower that has a steady, comforting hiss—perfect after a day of exploring. Oh, and the Wi‑Fi works like a charm—no buffering when you’re streaming that playlist you love.
Now, let’s talk practical stuff. Parking in Śródmieście is a nightmare, but they offer a small, underground spot a block away for a modest fee. It’s a good solution if you’re driving, but most locals and visitors I’ve seen just hop on the tram at Poniatowskiego or the bike share at the corner. Speaking of which, the area around the hotel is a walkable maze of hidden cafés and bars; you can stop by the tiny coffee shop on Słowackiego Street, where you’ll find a barista who knows the difference between a flat white and a latte. I’m telling you, the aroma of freshly ground beans is enough to make you want to stay in the apartment a little longer.
Noise level? Honestly, it’s pretty decent. The streets can get loud at night, but the thick walls do a good job of muffling the traffic. It’s only during the peak of the summer—especially on July 15th, when the city’s festival lights up the streets—where the nightlife starts to spill over into the building. That said, the hotel’s windows are double‑glazed, so you’re not hearing the bass from the club on the second floor. The only real critique I have is that the apartment’s fridge is a bit small for a couple. It’s more of a compact fridge, and you’ll need to bring your own storage containers if you’re planning a longer stay. But that’s a minor detail in an otherwise stellar experience.
The staff is another highlight. The front desk manager, a spry woman named Katarzyna, always had a recommendation on the best spots for lunch, and she even helped me book a bike rental for the next day. She knows the city’s hidden gems—like the secret garden behind the old church at Piastowska Street, or the tiny jazz bar on the 3rd floor of the nearby building. When I asked if there were any local events, she pointed out the open‑air cinema at the park, showing a Polish classic that you can only catch once a year. That personal touch made me feel like I was staying with a friend rather than in a hotel.
All in all, staying at was a genuine, down‑to‑earth experience that blends comfort, convenience, and a touch of local flavor. You get a taste of Wrocław’s heart, with easy access to everything from historic landmarks to the hipster cafés on the outskirts. If you’re planning a trip, this place offers a solid base with the kind of warmth you don’t find in the chain hotels. And if you’re looking for a place that feels like it belongs to the city rather than just a stopover, this is it.
To book hotel in Wroclaw during the famous Wroclaw European Capital of Culture celebrations, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts cultural enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

Stunning place in a quiet, enclosed area.
The apartment was absolutely spotless, could not fault it in any way, the host thought of absolutely everything one might need while there.
The bathroom is well designed, loved the walk in shower area.
The large terrace facing the inner courtyard is such a treat.
Would 100% recommend it and would stay there again.Karolina from Lithuania (10/10)
Very beautiful, cozy, new apartment. It is well equipped with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay with a safe parking space in a building's garage.
The self checking with very clear instructions on how to enter the apartment, very nice restaurant recommendations in the room 🙂
It's perfect.Pasquale from Czech Republic (10/10)
The apartment is an optimal location, close to supermarkets, shops and is not too crowded, it is close to a tram stop as well, the area is very well served by public transport, I arrived there by car, so for me it was very comfortable because I could use the parking.
The mini apartment has everything, literally: in the bathroom there are cosmetics, cotton buds, hair dryer, anything.
There is also dishwasher and what's needed to cook meals.
The apartment was very clean and inside a nice building with nice neighbors, there is even a nice veranda; I could not use it because it was still cold, but I can say it looked pretty nice and comfortable.Anastasiya from Poland (10/10)

Absolutely amazing experience staying here, best place I’ve ever stayed! It was my first ever solo trip and I was a little bit worried finding my way to the place by myself but the host communicated everything I needed to know prior to arrival, with clear instructions and pictures of how to access the property and was also readily available via text. The host has thought of every little detail – truly felt like a home away from home. Was a gorgeous apartment with every amenity you could need, wish I’d stayed longer! The apartment itself was modern and spotless and felt so luxurious, it’s in a really modern block of flats too. The balcony is gorgeous and was nice to relax on in the evening. Then, as I said, it had everything I needed and was expecting plus more, just thoughtful little touches such as tampons and milk in the fridge! Really loved my time here and would definitely stay again. Also not to mention it’s facing the best place pierogi place across the street!

Great!!!Leonard from Slovakia (10/10)
Beautiful apartment, well equipped and located near city center.
It is right at tram line (50 meters), but at the same time it is not noisy.
Very nice garden view from balcony.
Lots of grocery stores and bakeries nearby.
The communication with owner/service was very good both via phone or Booking chat – response was fast, she spoke good English and provided all necessary information well ahead.
All entrances (gate, building, apartment) are keyless.
Room is located on second floor (0 – ground, 1 – second floor).
Recommendation – fastest way is to use entrance "4" (not 4a) and go up one floor using stairs.
