So I stayed at the Bright apartment by the park & the river last month, and honestly, it’s one of those places that makes you rethink what you want from a hotel. You know what I mean? It’s not some fancy hotel chain, but there’s something really special about this spot on Parkowa Street – it feels like you’ve actually found a proper apartment in Wrocław rather than just another tourist trap.

The location is what really sold me. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the massive Park Południowy, which sounds more impressive than it is – I mean, it’s a lovely green space, but the name is kind of misleading because it’s right in the middle of Śródmieście. The river’s just beyond that, so you get these gorgeous morning views from the windows, especially around 7 AM when the light hits the water just right. I’d grab coffee from the little place on ulica Kazimierza Wielkiego – the babka there is incredible, and you can’t beat €3 for a proper Polish breakfast. The apartment itself is on the third floor, and while there’s no elevator, trust me, you don’t mind once you see the space. The host met me downstairs and actually helped with my bags, which was unexpected but really appreciated.

What struck me most was how genuinely comfortable everything felt. The kitchen has all the basics – and I mean actual basics, not those sad hotel kettles that barely heat water. There’s a little balcony that faces the park, and I spent way too much time out there with a book, just listening to the tram going by on ulica Traugutta. Speaking of which, if you’re sensitive to noise, maybe check what time trams run – they’re pretty regular from early morning until late evening. The bed was surprisingly good for a place that’s not technically a hotel, and the shower actually has decent pressure, which sounds minor but makes such a difference. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arranging it for after 3 PM unless you want to deal with luggage while exploring. The neighborhood gets a bit livelier on weekends – there’s a market on Saturdays that’s worth waking up for, and the whole area feels really safe walking around at night. I mean, Wrocław’s generally safe anyway, but this particular pocket feels especially welcoming. The rating of 8.4 totally makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it’s real, you know?
