Campanile Wroclaw – Stare Miasto Overview

So I ended up staying at the Campanile Wroclaw – Stare Miasto last month, and honestly, it was one of those finds that kind of surprised me. I mean, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place, but this spot on Jagiełły Street turned out to be pretty decent. The location is what really sold me – you’re literally steps from the Old Town Square, but somehow it feels removed from all the tourist chaos. I could walk to the Market Hall in like three minutes, which was perfect for grabbing breakfast before the crowds hit.

The room itself was… fine, I guess. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. I remember thinking the bed was actually more comfortable than expected, and there was this weirdly pleasant smell – sort of like fresh laundry mixed with that typical European hotel corridor scent. The walls were a bit thin though, so I could hear the couple next door having what sounded like a very passionate argument around 11 PM. Not ideal, but hey, it quieted down after midnight. You know what surprised me? The breakfast spread was genuinely good – proper Polish sausages, fresh bread from a local bakery they mentioned (probably from that place on Świdnicka Street), and the coffee was strong enough to wake up your soul.

What I really appreciated was how unpretentious the whole place felt. The staff weren’t trying too hard to impress you, but they were helpful when I asked about getting to the train station – they actually drew me a little map on the back of their business card. There’s parking underground if you’re driving, which isn’t cheap but honestly worth it considering how confusing Wrocław’s old town can be for navigation. I’d say avoid July and August if you can help it – the whole area gets absolutely swamped with tourists, and I noticed the Campanile Wroclaw – Stare Miasto was nearly full during my second week there. But in May? Perfect. Just the right balance of warm weather and peaceful evenings when you could actually sit by the window and watch people stroll down toward the river.
