Cleopatra Apartment Overview

So I ended up staying at the Cleopatra Apartment last month when I was in Wrocław for a friend’s wedding, and honestly, it was one of those happy accidents that travelers dream about. I’d originally booked some generic hotel near the market square, but then realized I’d be right next to where the ceremony was happening, so I switched last minute. The place is tucked away on ul. Sienkiewicza – you know, that street that runs along the river, kind of parallel to where the Centennial Hall is – and while it’s not the most picturesque address, it’s got this solid, reliable feel to it. The building itself looks like it’s been there forever, which I actually love, you know?

The apartment was on the third floor (walk-up, so pack light if you’re not fit) and when I opened the door, I was immediately struck by how thoughtfully it had been renovated. There’s this warm, honey-colored wood throughout – not the fake stuff, but real oak that creaks just enough to remind you you’re in an old building. The kitchen had all the basics, and honestly, I ended up cooking most of my meals there instead of going out every night. The neighborhood is actually perfect for that – there’s a little grocery store called Biedronka literally two blocks away that stays open until 10 PM, and if you walk maybe five minutes toward the train station, there’s this amazing bakery that opens at 6 AM with the best fresh bread I’ve had in Poland. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was surprisingly good, and there were blackout curtains that actually worked, which was a lifesaver because I was jet-lagged and needed to get my sleep sorted.

What really sold me on the Cleopatra Apartment was how quiet it was at night. I mean, Wrocław can get pretty loud when there are stag parties stumbling around, but this particular street just stays mellow. You could hear the occasional tram going by, but nothing disruptive. Check-in was smooth – the host met me there around 3 PM, showed me around, and was super helpful about recommending places that weren’t tourist traps. There’s no parking on site, but there’s paid street parking available if you’re driving (which I wouldn’t really recommend in the city center anyway). WiFi worked perfectly for video calls back home, which was important since I was technically working a few hours each day. The only small thing is that the bathroom is pretty compact – not a problem if you’re traveling solo, but might feel cramped for two people getting ready at the same time. Still, for 9.6 out of 10, I can’t complain. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Wrocław.
