So I stumbled upon this little gem called Fairytales Apartment during a weekend trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it completely changed my perspective on what a stay in Śródmieście could be like. You know how most places in the Old Town area feel either overly touristy or kinda run-down? Well, this spot hits that perfect sweet spot right on Kręta street – just a two-minute wander from the Market Square, but far enough that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping above a bachelorette party bar. The building itself is one of those charming pre-war constructions that the Poles do so well, you know? All original moldings, high ceilings, but they’ve managed to squeeze in modern comforts without making it feel sterile or anything.

What really sold me on Fairytales Apartment was how thoughtfully they’ve approached the whole setup – I mean, the kitchenette actually has decent knives, which sounds small but when you’re trying to chop vegetables for dinner after a day of walking, it makes all the difference. The bed? Honestly, it’s one of those rare hotel beds that doesn’t leave you questioning your life choices at 3 AM. There’s this huge window that looks out over the courtyard, and while I was worried about noise (Kręta can get pretty lively on weekends), it was actually surprisingly quiet – I think the courtyard side faces away from most of the street action. Check-in was smooth too, the host met me there and took maybe five minutes to walk me through everything, which I appreciated since I’d been traveling all day and just wanted to drop my bags and explore.

The location is genuinely perfect for getting your bearings in Wrocław – you can be at the Centennial Hall in ten minutes walking, or hop on the tram right around the corner if you want to venture out to the Panorama or whatever. I grabbed breakfast from this tiny bakery just around the corner called “Piekarnia Przytulanka” – their kajzerki are incredible, and honestly, way better than anything you’ll find in the tourist zone. Parking was a bit of a puzzle, I’ll admit – there’s street parking but it fills up fast on Saturday mornings, so if you’re driving, maybe look into one of the lots near the train station. The whole vibe of Fairytales Apartment feels like someone’s really tasteful friend let you crash at their place – which, actually, is exactly what makes it special in a city where so many accommodations feel corporate and forgettable.
