Grey Apartments II Overview
Grey Apartments II sits tucked in the quieter part of Krzyki, at ul. Powstańców Śląskich 54b\16. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home rather than a hotel, this is the spot. The building’s façade is a bit old-school, but the interior has been refreshed with a modern, minimalist vibe – I mean, it’s the kind of place where you can see the light streaming in from the balcony, making the living area feel airy and warm. The check‑in was surprisingly quick; the front desk staff were friendly, and they handed you a keycard with a smile that made you feel like a regular. The apartment itself is compact but surprisingly functional: a single room that doubles as a bed and a small sofa, a kitchenette that actually has a coffee maker (the best one I’ve had in Poland!), and a bathroom with a shower that’s not too small – you can get a good rinse after a day on the tram.
Walking from there, you can hop on the tram line 1 and be in the heart of the Old Town in about ten minutes. The street feels quieter at night, but you’ll still hear the occasional rumble of a late‑night bus and the distant hum of the city’s nightlife. If you’re into cafés, there’s a little place called „Kawiarnię” on ul. 19 listopada just a block away, where the espresso is strong and the pastries taste like you’re in a bakery in Italy. On weekends, the market on Rynek Główny fills the air with the scent of fresh pierogi and roasted chestnuts – a sensory experience you can’t miss. I also discovered a hidden gem: a tiny bar on ul. Piasta, where the bartender knows the local brew and can recommend a glass of the best Olsztyn beer. The building’s location means you’re close to the train station, so if you’re flying in, you can catch a direct tram to the airport in about fifteen minutes.
Noise-wise, the apartment is pretty decent. The street outside isn’t a major highway, so most of the noise comes from the occasional traffic and the night shift at the nearby factory (you’ll hear a low thrum during the late hours). I found that the windows are solid enough to keep the city noise at bay, but you’ll still catch the faint echo of a distant siren in the early morning. Parking can be a bit of a hunt – there’s a small paid lot on the corner, but I’d suggest renting a bike from the station if you’re planning to explore the city on foot. The balcony is a small oasis; you can sit, sip a glass of wine, and watch the sunset over the Oder river, which is a beautiful sight that makes you forget you’re in a hotel at all. Overall, offers a real, authentic Wrocław experience that feels like staying with a friend, not a corporate stay.

Felt really safe, two code locks and a heavy locked door. Comfortable large bed, nice bathroom and the basics to cook. Super close via taxi to the centre and across the road to the sky tower.
