The apartment itself has this really genuine, lived-in charm that you just can’t fake. There’s this warm, almost golden light that filters through the windows in the late afternoon – I’m pretty sure it’s because of how the building faces – and the whole place smells faintly of vanilla and old wood, which sounds weird but trust me, it’s nice. The kitchen’s fully stocked with actual Polish coffee (none of that instant stuff), and there’s a little balcony that overlooks a quiet courtyard where you can hear street musicians practicing in the evening. Speaking of noise, it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central – I think the old town’s cobblestones actually help muffle traffic sound, plus the windows are pretty thick. Check-in was smooth, though the host was running about fifteen minutes late, which honestly wasn’t a big deal since there’s a café called “Kawiarnia Literacka” right around the corner where you can grab an amazing flat white while you wait.

You can walk to the Market Hall in under five minutes, which is where you should absolutely get breakfast – the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings is incredible, and you’re close enough to carry some pastries back to your place. Parking was a bit of a headache, I’ll be honest, but that’s Wrocław for you; there’s a garage about three blocks away that’s way cheaper than the downtown ones. The neighborhood gets a bit lively after midnight with the clubs near the university, but our apartment faced the courtyard so we barely noticed anything.
