Krakowska 39 – B by Homeprime Overview

So I ended up staying at Krakowska 39 – B by Homeprime mostly because my flight got delayed and I needed somewhere close to the train station that wasn’t going to break the bank. Honestly, I’m really glad it worked out that way because this place completely surprised me. You know what’s great about it? It’s actually just a five-minute walk from the main train station, but once you turn onto Krakowska Street itself, it gets surprisingly quiet. The building is one of those typical Wrocław apartment blocks from the ’70s—you’ve seen them, all concrete and functional—but they’ve done a really nice job converting the interior. My room was on the third floor (no elevator, just FYI) and it had this big window that looked out over the courtyard, which sounds boring but there was something peaceful about watching people come and go below while I had my morning coffee.

The staff there? Super chill. The woman at check-in was probably in her sixties and had this whole thing about showing me exactly which tram to take if I wanted to get to the Market Square—the number 2 is apparently the most reliable, and you get off at Solny Staw. She even drew me a little map on the back of my receipt. Check-in was around 3 PM, which worked out perfectly because I got there at 2:45 and she just said “come back in a few minutes, I’ll be ready.” No stress, no rushing. The room itself was clean in that way that matters—bedsheets smelled fresh, the bathroom didn’t have that weird hotel dampness, and there was actual water pressure in the shower, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in older European buildings. I mean, it’s a three-star place so it’s not fancy, but everything felt cared for. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable too, and I slept better there than I have in some four-star hotels.

Location-wise, you’re sort of in this pocket of the city where it’s residential enough that it feels local, but you can walk to everything if you don’t mind twenty minutes. There’s a decent little grocery store called Biedronka literally two blocks away—super useful for grabbing water or snacks without having to hunt around the tourist areas where everything’s marked up. And if you’re traveling in the summer like I was, the area gets pretty lively in the evenings. Not loud, just… alive, you know? Kids playing in the small park down the street, people sitting outside having beers. The only thing I’d mention is that Krakowska Street does get some traffic noise during the day, but by 9 PM it’s pretty quiet. Would I stay there again? Yeah, actually. It felt like a real slice of Wrocław life without any of the hassle.
