Mercure Wrocław Centrum Overview
Mercure Wrocław Centrum sits smack in the middle of the old town, on Pl. Dominikański 1 – I swear, if you’re wandering around the square and miss it, you’re definitely lost. The building itself is a polite nod to the 1930s architecture, but once you step inside, you’re in a totally different world. The lobby feels like a cozy café, with warm wooden panels, a subtle hint of fresh coffee (the staff actually roasts a small batch on site), and a big window that lets in enough light to make you forget the chill outside. The check‑in was quick; the receptionist had your name on a card, nodded, and you were in your room in about ten minutes. I got a keycard that opened a little drawer with a bottle of local sparkling water – that’s a small gesture, but it felt like a personal welcome.
The rooms are solidly 4‑star, but they’re not all the same. I stayed in a room on the second floor with a view of the city’s rooftops, and the bed was so comfortable that I fell asleep before the room service car rattled by outside. The ensuite is spacious, and the shower has a nice, steady water pressure that makes you feel like you’re in a spa. The décor is modern but not overdone; there’s a pastel palette and a few artworks that are definitely Polish, not generic tourist prints. I’ve heard some folks say the quieter rooms are on the lower floors, and I guess that’s because the city’s nightlife is a bit far down the street – but you’ll still hear the occasional horns from the nearby tram line. I’d recommend waking up a little earlier on weekends to catch the sunrise over the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist – it’s a simple, yet breathtaking view.
The real charm, though, is how the hotel blends into the neighborhood. You can walk a few minutes to the Silesian Museum, but it’s easier to head to the St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, which has a beautiful baroque facade and a small café that serves the best pierogi in town. If you’re up for a stroll, the market on Rynek is just a five‑minute walk – the smell of fresh bread and honey wafts out of the stalls, and you can sample local cheeses. I took advantage of the free Wi‑Fi, but I’m not a big fan of the hotel’s Wi‑Fi name – it’s a bit confusing, but the speed is adequate.
Parking is a bit of a hassle. There’s a municipal parking lot two blocks away, but you have to pay a fee that’s a tad high. The hotel does offer a small parking space for guests, but you need to book it in advance. I think the best way to avoid the hassle is to use the tram – the stop Główny is only a three‑minute walk, and the trams run frequently, even on a Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, I noticed the hotel’s front desk is a bit quieter on that day, but the staff is still friendly and offers a quick check‑out if you’re in a hurry.
The breakfast buffet is a real treat. It’s not a luxury spread, but you’ll find everything you need: local cheeses, smoked salmon, a selection of breads, and a made‑to‑order coffee station. The staff actually asks if you want to add anything, and they’re quick to bring you a plate of fresh pierogi for a small extra. I had a cup of espresso that was strong, but not bitter – a perfect pick‑me‑up after a long morning at the museum.
Honestly, this place is a solid stay for anyone who wants to be in the heart of Wrocław without dealing with the tourist crowds. The staff are genuinely friendly, the rooms are clean, and the location is such that you can walk to most of the city’s highlights. I’d give it an 8.6, because of the little things: the small bottle of sparkling water, the quick check‑in, and the occasional noise from the tram line that reminds you that you’re right in the middle of a living city. If you’re planning a trip to Wrocław, this hotel is a dependable, comfortable, and genuinely helpful base to keep you grounded while you explore the old town, the university, and the charming streets that locals love.

Perfect hotel near the Wroclaw City Center. Everything was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We got an upgrade to a room on the 5th floor with easy access to the top terrace. The breakfast is extremely varied (you could also make yourself waffles) and tasty food. The access to the parking and in the hotel was great extremely easy. They offer recyclable bottles that you can fill on the hallway but we would have preferred to have the minibar full (even if we know that this has been a problem in almost every hotel after Covid).

Everything about our stay at Mercure was fantastic. Amazing room, great size, breathtaking view with super comfy beds. Perfect. Kids had little beds and loved them too. The coffee machine in the room was a very nice touch. Loved the smell of the hand wash and shower gel. The hotel provides water machines on each floor so it is really easy to refill bottles with sparkling or still water.
We didn't eat at the restaurant, but had some local wine at the bar, which was very good. Kuba was ready to recommend it!
Breakfast was absolutely fantastic too. Wide selection of hot and cold food and plenty of choice for coffee lovers! Breakfast team was very nice too. Andrzej, Grzegorz, Gabriela and the most pleasant lady at the welcome desk made our day on both mornings of our stay.
All in all probably one of the best hotels we stayed in.Klaudia from Ireland (9/10)
The location was brilliant. 10 minute walk to the old town square which is beautiful. The shopping centre was right beside it which was good for last minute pick up of bits and pieces. Lovely roof area to relax in on 5th floor.
