Odra View Apartments III Overview
So I ended up staying at Odra View Apartments III last month when I was in Wrocław for a conference, and honestly, it was one of those finds that really made the trip. You know how sometimes you book a place and cross your fingers, but then you walk in and immediately feel like you’re home? That was the vibe here. The address is Mieszczańska 17, right in Śródmieście – which sounds fancy, but it basically means you’re smack in the old town area, though not tourist-trappy. There’s this great little bakery called Piekarnia Stary Wrocław just two blocks away that opens at 6 AM, and trust me, grab their sourdough before you do anything else.
The building itself is one of those typical Wrocław apartment blocks – solid, nothing flashy, but the Odra View Apartments III crew has really maximized what they’ve got. My studio had this huge window (hence the “view” in the name, I guess) that actually did face the Odra River, and while you can’t see the water from every angle, having that glimpse in the morning light was pretty great. The kitchenette was basic but functional – there’s a decent induction stove, though I learned the hard way that the extractor fan is kind of loud if you’re cooking anything with serious heat. The floors are that smooth concrete deal, which looks modern but gets cold in the morning – they do provide slippers, which I appreciated. Honestly, the Wi-Fi held up even when half the conference was probably using it, and the washing machine in the basement actually works, which saved me from having to hunt down a laundromat.
Location-wise, you’re walking distance to pretty much everything in the old town, but here’s the thing – if you’re coming from the train station, it’s maybe a 15-minute walk, but there’s a slight uphill that’ll get you in the late afternoon sun. Not brutal, but you’ll notice it. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which I loved, though there was some construction on Kazimierza Wielkiego Street that started up around 8 AM. Nothing crazy, but if you’re a light sleeper, maybe bring earplugs just in case. I mean, the staff was really chill during check-in – the lady remembered my name the next day, which felt nice and personal. The rating’s 8.8, and I’d say that’s about right – it’s not trying to be the Hilton, but it’s solid, clean, and in a spot where you can actually feel like you’re experiencing Wrocław, not just visiting it. I’d definitely crash here again if I’m back in the city.
