The apartment itself is on the third floor of what looks like a restored townhouse, and when I say restored, I mean they kept all the character – there’s this beautiful exposed brick wall in the living area that just screams “we didn’t gut this place and make it generic.” The host, Anna, met me at the door with what smelled like fresh coffee from the little café downstairs (which, spoiler alert, makes amazing flat whites if you’re staying there in the morning). Check-in was seamless, though I’d recommend mentioning if you need late arrival – she’s usually in and out by 9 PM but was super accommodating when I texted ahead. Now, here’s the thing about Wrocław – it gets pretty lively, especially on weekends, but Opera Apartment – Widok 16 is surprisingly quiet. I’m not sure if it’s the building or just the street, but I slept better there than I have in months.

What really sold me was the kitchen setup – not because I’m some culinary genius, but because having a proper stove and decent knives meant I could grab ingredients from the market on Kazimierza Wielkiego (seriously, go there Saturday morning if you’re in town) and actually cook something that didn’t taste sad. The neighborhood itself is sort of this hidden gem – there’s a bookstore-café called “Empik Cafe” two blocks away that’s way better than any chain, and the tram stop at Plac Wolności is just a few minutes’ walk if you need to venture out. I mean, Opera Apartment – Widok 16 is technically a 4-star place, but it feels more like staying with a friend who has better taste than you – everything just works without being pretentious. The only minor thing? There’s no elevator, so pack light if you’re on the upper floors, but honestly, that climb past the second floor meant I actually got some exercise during my stay.
