RentPlanet – Apartament Nowowiejska Overview
So I ended up staying at RentPlanet – Apartament Nowowiejska during my week in Wrocław, and honestly, it was one of those finds that made the whole trip better. I’d been burned by generic hotel chains before, so when a local mentioned this place on Nowowiejska Street, I figured why not give it a shot. Well, it turned out to be exactly what I needed – not fancy, but thoughtfully put together with actual care.
The apartment itself is on the third floor of a solid pre-war building, and you know what? The stairwell still smells like those old Polish buildings do – kind of like beeswax polish and decades of home cooking. There’s something comforting about that, actually. The unit is compact but smartly designed; the kitchenette has real appliances (shocker, I know), and the bed faces this big window that looks out over the street below. Morning light pours in around 7 AM, which was perfect because the bakeries on Szewska Street start getting busy early – you can actually smell the fresh bread if you keep the window cracked open. The neighborhood feels genuinely alive, not touristy. Around 8 PM, you’ll hear people chatting on their balconies, kids playing in the courtyard next door, and the occasional tram rumbling by on Plac Nowy Targ. It’s not quiet, but it’s the good kind of not quiet, you know?
What really sold me on RentPlanet – Apartament Nowowiejska was how easy everything was. Check-in was smooth – the host met me downstairs with a map and literally pointed out where to grab the best pierogi (Mama Mania, just two blocks away). Parking isn’t super straightforward in that part of Śródmieście, but there’s a public garage about five minutes’ walk away that’s decently priced if you’re driving. I mean, you don’t really need a car here anyway – the Market Square is maybe a twelve-minute walk, and you can hop on a tram right outside for basically anywhere else in the city. The apartment had WiFi that actually worked (thank god), a washer/dryer combo that I used once, and the water pressure in the shower was surprisingly solid for an older building. My only minor gripe? The mattress was a bit firm for my taste, but hey, that’s personal preference and I slept fine. Honestly, for 8.5 out of 10, this place nails what travelers actually want – a clean, functional space in a neighborhood that feels real, not boxed-in. I’d definitely book it again.
