RentPlanet – Apartament Środkowa Overview
So I stumbled upon this place called RentPlanet – Apartament Środkowa during a work trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it completely changed my perspective on staying in apartments versus hotels. You know how sometimes you book something that looks great in photos but reality hits differently? Well, this was the opposite of that. The address is right on Środkowa Street, which if you’re not familiar with Stare Miasto, is one of those charming narrow cobblestone streets that locals actually use – not just the tourist-trap ones. I mean, you’ve got the Market Square literally a three-minute walk away, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough from the main square hub that it stays surprisingly quiet at night.
The apartment itself is on the third floor of what looks like a typical Wrocław tenement building, and when I say typical, I mean it’s got that beautiful pre-war architecture you’ll recognize if you’ve walked around the old town. Getting in was smooth – the host met me downstairs and walked me through everything, which I appreciated since I’d already had a long day of travel. There’s something to be said for having your own kitchen, especially in Poland where you can pick up incredible bread from the bakery on Kazimierza Wielkiego Street (seriously, go there for breakfast) and just whip up a simple meal. The bed was actually more comfortable than expected – I’ve stayed in five-star hotels with worse mattresses. Though I should mention the shower pressure could be better, and the water gets hot slowly, but honestly, that’s pretty common in older European buildings.
What really sold me on RentPlanet – Apartament Środkowa was the neighborhood vibe. You’re walking distance to everything but tucked away on a residential street where people still hang laundry and chat on their doorsteps. There’s a fantastic little bar called Piwa & Wina just around the corner that the owner recommended – apparently they have the best craft beer selection in the city. The area gets busy during the day with tourists, but by 9 PM it mellows out nicely. I noticed the windows are double-paned, which was a lifesaver because there was a wedding celebration at the restaurant below on my second night, and I still slept perfectly. Parking was tricky (as it is everywhere in this part of Wrocław), but there’s a public garage about five minutes away that’s reasonably priced if you have a car. For about 120 złoty a night, you’re getting something that feels way more authentic than any chain hotel, and the 8.9 rating they have is definitely deserved. I’d come back in a heartbeat – especially during the Christmas market season when the whole area gets that magical glow.
To book hotel in Wroclaw during the famous Wroclaw European Capital of Culture celebrations, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts cultural enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.
