RentPlanet – Apartamenty Bernardyńska Overview
So I stumbled upon this little gem called RentPlanet – Apartamenty Bernardyńska during a work trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it completely changed my perspective on what a three-star place could be. You know how you usually brace yourself for disappointment with highly-rated spots? Well, this one actually delivered. The building sits right on Klemensa Janickiego, which sounds fancy but it’s basically this quiet street that runs parallel to the more touristy Bernardyńska – perfect because you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the weekend pub crowds that plague the main square.
The apartment I stayed in had this huge window that overlooked a tiny courtyard where you could hear the faint sound of tram bells and distant conversations from the café below. I mean, the mattress was probably from the ’80s – but honestly, it was one of those surprisingly comfortable old ones that doesn’t leave you achy in the morning. The kitchenette was fully stocked with actual coffee (not that terrible instant stuff) and there were Polish tea bags I’d never seen before – turned out they were from a local shop just two blocks away that apparently has the best herbal blends in Stare Miasto. Check-in was smooth, which I wasn’t expecting at all – the host met me right when they said they would, and they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give me proper directions to the train station instead of just saying “turn left, then right.”
What really sold me on RentPlanet though was how it felt lived-in, you know? Not like one of those sterile Airbnb setups where everything’s brand new and you’re scared to touch anything. There were books in Polish and English on the shelf, some local art on the walls, and this amazing smell that I couldn’t place at first – later figured out it was probably coming from the bakery that opens at 6 AM right around the corner. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which if you’re like me and crash early, is a blessing. Mornings are when the neighborhood really comes alive though – you’ve got people heading to the market, the tram rumbles by every twenty minutes, and there’s this little place on Bernardyńska that serves the most incredible zapiekanka I’ve had outside of Kraków. The only thing I’d mention is that parking is tricky if you’re driving – I’d recommend just taking a cab from the station since spots on Janickiego are limited and the permit system is kind of a mess. But honestly, for 9.6 out of 10, RentPlanet gets my vote any day over those soulless hotel chains.
Hotels in Wroclaw offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this enchanting city, with easy access to museums, theaters, and the picturesque Cathedral Island.
