So I stayed at RentPlanet – Apartamenty Dmowskiego last month, and honestly, it’s one of those places that surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes you book something online and it looks great in photos but feels kind of sterile when you actually get there? Well, this place had none of that corporate apartment feel. It’s right on Romana Dmowskiego, which if you’re not familiar with Wrocław, is one of those streets that locals actually walk down – not just tourists shuffling between the Market Square and their next Instagram spot. The building itself is that typical Wrocław pre-war construction, solid as a rock, and the entrance has this really nice tiled lobby that feels authentic rather than trying too hard.

The apartment I got was a two-bedroom on the fourth floor, and I mean fourth floor European style – there’s an elevator, thankfully, because I had luggage. The whole setup felt thoughtfully put together, actually. Like they’d asked real travelers what they needed instead of just copying a template. The kitchen had proper cookware – not those flimsy tourist knives you sometimes get – and there was even a little balcony where you could hear the tram 301 going by every twenty minutes or so. That might sound annoying, but it was sort of comforting, you know? Very much part of the city’s rhythm. The neighborhood gets quieter after 10 PM, which was perfect for me since I wasn’t looking to party, but there’s still enough foot traffic that you don’t feel isolated. There’s a really good bakery called Piekarnia Kawiarnia just around the corner that opens at 7 AM – grab their obwarzanek before heading out for the day.

What really impressed me was how RentPlanet handled the check-in. The host met me in the lobby (no awkward waiting outside or hunting for keys in mailboxes) and actually gave me a proper neighborhood orientation. Not one of those rushed “here’s where everything is” things, but genuine tips about which restaurants were worth the price and where to avoid during rush hour. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the apartment, which sounds basic but isn’t always guaranteed in older European buildings. I’d say the neighborhood is maybe a 15-minute walk from the main tourist areas, but honestly, that was a plus. You’re close enough to walk everywhere but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant crowds. RentPlanet itself doesn’t have crazy amenities – no pool or spa or anything – but that wasn’t what I was looking for. It’s more like having a really well-located friend’s apartment that you can borrow. The value for money was excellent, especially compared to hotels right in the Old Town that charge significantly more for worse locations. I mean, I paid less per night than I would have at many three-star places and got way more space and authenticity.
