RentPlanet – Apartamenty Ruska Overview
So I stumbled onto this little gem called RentPlanet – Apartamenty Ruska during a work trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it was one of those happy accidents that makes traveling worthwhile. You know how sometimes you just want a place that feels like it belongs in the neighborhood rather than screaming “tourist accommodation” at you? That’s exactly what you get here. The address is Ruska 47-48 right in Stare Miasto, which if you’re not familiar with Wrocław means you’re basically standing in the heart of the old town – cobblestones, medieval market square, all that good stuff.
The apartment I stayed in was actually a converted historical building – you can still see some of the original stonework in the hallway – and while it’s only rated at 3 stars, I’d argue it punches well above that. The host met me right at the property, which was nice because let me tell you, navigating Wrocław’s medieval street layout with luggage is no joke. There’s this narrow alleyway you have to walk down that feels like you’re stepping back in time, but it’s totally worth it once you see the courtyard. The unit itself was spotless, with this really thoughtful kitchen setup that had all the basics – and I mean actually functional pans, not that flimsy stuff some places try to pass off. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and there were blackout curtains that actually worked, which was a lifesaver because there’s always that early morning church bell situation in old towns.
What really sold me on RentPlanet – Apartamenty Rusza though was how it felt integrated into the neighborhood rather than separate from it. My window faced an actual residential street where people were hanging laundry and cats were sunbathing on window sills – none of that sterile hotel corridor nonsense. You’re close enough to walk to the Rynek in like five minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with pub crowds stumbling by at 2 AM. Though I should mention, if you’re sensitive to noise, maybe request a room in the back because the front ones do get some street sound, especially during market days when they set up right outside. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which impressed me because old buildings in Europe can be Wi-Fi black holes, and check-out was flexible when I asked nicely. You’ll definitely want to try the little café on Bernardyńska Street that’s maybe a three-minute walk – the owner knows everyone and somehow remembers what everyone orders, which is pretty charming.
