The kitchen was fully stocked with decent pans and spices, which saved me a fortune since there’s this amazing little grocery store called Biedronka literally two minutes away on Karmelicka street – locals shop there, way cheaper than the tourist stuff near the market hall. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I appreciated that they’d thought about the little things: good hangers, actual hangers not those flimsy plastic ones, and USB ports built right into the nightstand which, let me tell you, is a lifesaver when you’re juggling charging cables in a foreign country.

Location-wise, RentPlanet – Apartamenty Włodkowica is hard to beat. I could walk to the Wrocław Opera in like five minutes, and there’s this incredible coffee shop called Kawiarnia pod Papugami right around the corner that nobody tells you about but locals pack in the mornings. The only tiny thing – and this is really minor – is that the apartment faces the street so you do get a bit of noise from the trams and late-night foot traffic, but honestly it wasn’t bad enough to bother me and you get used to the rhythm of the city pretty quickly. Check-in was smooth, the host left detailed instructions, and they’d even included some local tips for restaurants that weren’t in any guidebook. By the time I left, I was actually considering extending my stay – which for me is saying something since I’m usually itching to move on to the next place. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentic but still has all the practical stuff sorted, RentPlanet is definitely worth considering.
