Check-in was smooth, though the guy at the front desk was pretty chatty in a nice way, giving me the lowdown on where to get the best pierogi (apparently the place on Kazimierza Wielkiego is legendary, and he wasn’t wrong). My room was on the third floor facing the courtyard, which meant it stayed really quiet at night—thank god, because I was exhausted from meetings all day. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and there’s this little detail I loved: the windows have those thick, old-school curtains that actually block out the light completely. You know how some modern hotels try to go minimalist with thin blinds and you end up getting woken up by streetlights? Not here.

What really sold me on RentPlanet – Nowa Kurkowa was how it felt lived-in rather than sterile. There’s a small kitchenette with a decent fridge, and I ended up picking up groceries from the Biedronka right around the corner (seriously, their Polish cheese selection is next level). The area gets pretty lively in the evenings, but not in a disruptive way—more like you can hear the distant hum of people enjoying themselves at the pubs along Szewska Street. I’d recommend booking here if you want a genuine Wrocław experience without sacrificing comfort. The staff knew their stuff about local events too; they mentioned there was a jazz festival happening at the University of Wrocław during my stay, which I ended up going to and it was fantastic. Honestly, if I’m back in the city, I’d probably stay here again—it’s that rare spot that’s practical, comfortable, and somehow still feels authentic.
