RentPlanet – Odra Tower Overview
So I ended up staying at the RentPlanet – Odra Tower last month when I was in Wrocław for a conference, and honestly, it was one of those happy accident bookings that worked out better than I expected. I mean, I almost went with something in the market square area just to be in the thick of things, but this place is actually in such a sweet spot – right on Podwale, which is this really charming old street that runs along what used to be the city walls. You can literally walk to the market square in about six minutes, but you’re far enough away from the stag parties and street performers to actually get some sleep.
The building itself is pretty striking – it’s that modern glass tower that sort of rises up from the medieval street level, which creates this weird but cool contrast. My room was on the 12th floor, and the view over Stare Miasto was fantastic, especially at sunset when the whole old town just glows. The apartment was spotless when I got there, and I have to say, the kitchenette setup was a lifesaver because I could grab groceries from the little shop on Bernardyńska Street (much cheaper than hotel restaurants, you know?). The bed was seriously comfortable – I’m usually a light sleeper, but I slept like a log, and I think part of that was how well-insulated the place was. You couldn’t really hear the street noise, which surprised me given how central it is.
What really won me over was how walkable everything was. Like, I could grab a coffee at Kawiarnia Włoska just around the corner in the morning, then stroll past the Centennial Hall – it’s maybe a 15-minute walk through the park. There’s a tram stop right nearby if you want to head over to the islands area, but honestly, most of Wrocław’s main sights are within walking distance. The staff were super helpful about local recommendations too; the guy at check-in told me about this amazing pierogi place on Wrocławska Street that I never would have found otherwise. Oh, and parking was straightforward if you’re driving – there’s an underground garage, though it’s not cheap (but then again, nothing’s cheap in Wrocław’s old town). I’d definitely stay here again – it’s not trying to be fancy-fancy, but it’s thoughtfully put together, and that location really can’t be beat.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Wroclaw through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s rich cultural heritage and dwarf hunting adventures.
