What really sold me was how it felt lived-in, not like some sterile rental. The floors had that worn wood character you only get in old European buildings, and there was this faint smell of vanilla from the candles they’d left out – small touches that made it feel welcoming. I mean, sleeping eleven people might sound like a recipe for chaos, but the layout actually worked surprisingly well. The main bedroom overlooks the courtyard, which stays pretty quiet even in summer when the street below gets busy with tourists heading to the Town Hall – it’s literally just 300 meters away, but tucked back enough that you don’t get that constant foot traffic noise. Though I should mention the kitchen windows do face the street, so if you’re planning late-night conversations in there, maybe keep it down a bit.

The location, honestly, you can’t beat it. From here, you’re walking distance to basically everything – I’m talking two minutes to the Market Square, five to the Wrocław Cathedral, and there’s this amazing little bakery called “Piekarnia Świdnicka” just around the corner that does the best sourdough bread I’ve had outside of San Francisco. Check-in was smooth, the host left detailed instructions, and there’s underground parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need it. The only thing I’d note is that because it’s an older building, the water pressure in the shower can be a bit finicky in the mornings – not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of when you’re rushing to catch your train. But seriously, if you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Wrocław while still having all the space and amenities of a proper apartment, Ruska Street Old Town is worth every penny.
