Rynek 3 Old Town Overview
Rynek 3 Old Town – the first time I stepped into this spot, I felt like I’d entered a living postcard. It’s tucked right on the cobblestones of the market square, right beside the famous St. Elizabeth’s Church, so you’re literally surrounded by history. The lobby is a surprisingly quiet oasis; the brass fireplace crackles softly, and the scent of freshly ground coffee lingers in the air. Check‑in is a breeze, with a friendly front desk clerk who actually knows the area better than most locals – and she’s quick to point out the best bakeries on Głogowska Street. She’ll even text you the Wi‑Fi code before you leave the room, which is a major plus for those of us who hate digging for passwords.
The rooms themselves are a blend of old‑world charm and modern comfort. I stayed in a single that had a tiny balcony overlooking the square – the view of the sunset over the Cathedral’s spire was unforgettable. The bed was plush, and the sheets felt like a gentle hug. One thing to note: the windows face the square, so if you’re a light sleeper, expect a faint hum of traffic and the occasional clatter of a tourist tram. But honestly, that soundtrack is part of the city’s heartbeat, and I found it oddly comforting after a long day of exploring. The bathroom was spotless, with a shower that had a nice water pressure, and the toiletries were a bit on the pricey side, but the large mirror made you feel like you could take your time getting ready for a night out on Piaskowa Street. Speaking of which, Piaskowa is just a stone’s throw away and is a favorite among locals for its cozy cafés and artisanal ice cream shops. If you’re looking for a quick bite, the bakery on Piaskowa serves the best rye bread in town – I swear, you can taste the yeast and the sun on the same slice.
Parking is a bit of a challenge – the hotel doesn’t have a dedicated garage, so you’ll need to look for street parking which can be a game of “find the spot” especially during the summer festival season. I managed to snag a spot on the side of the building, but be ready to walk a little if you’re on a tight schedule. The noise level outside the hotel is typical for the Old Town – bustling, but not overwhelming. At night, the square’s lights cast a warm glow that invites you to wander. I actually walked to the nearby Ołbin Park after midnight and found the city’s nightlife to be surprisingly relaxed, with a few bars that offer live jazz and a few late-night cafés where you can still catch a quiet conversation. The only critique would be the check‑in timing; the front desk opens at 3 PM, so if you’re arriving early, you’ll have to wait for the room to be ready. But that’s a small price to pay for staying in such a central, character-filled spot that feels like home rather than a hotel. Overall, is the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer and keep exploring the city’s hidden corners, one cobblestone at a time.
