Rzeźnicza 24 Overview

Rzeźnicza 24 sits right on the cobblestones of Stare Miasto, literally a stone’s throw from the Market Square and the old town hall. Walking there feels like stepping into a postcard, but you’ll notice the little quirks that only locals spot—a cracked flagstone in front, a graffiti mural that’s been updated every few months, and that faint scent of roasted chestnuts drifting from the bakery on Ulica Piaskowa. The building itself is a classic three‑star Polish hotel: modest, but the façade has a charm that’s been lovingly preserved. I remember the first time I checked in, the front desk staff called me by my first name and slipped a small jar of local honey into my luggage—small gestures that really set a tone of warmth.

The check‑in process is smooth, but be aware that the lobby is usually bustling during the lunch rush around noon. The reception desk is on the ground floor, but you’ll need to climb the narrow stairwell to reach your room, so bring a backpack if you’re lugging a lot of stuff. Parking can be a bit of a scavenger hunt; the nearest free street parking is on Ratuszowa, but it fills up fast on weekends. A paid lot on Ołtarzowa is a 10‑minute walk away and offers a discount if you book in advance. Sound-wise, the hotel’s in a relatively quiet area, but the night traffic on the nearby Grzegorz Lato Street can be a low‑level hum that fades after midnight. The room itself is surprisingly spacious for a three‑star, with a comfortable bed that has a memory‑foam layer that’s not too firm. The bathroom has a rain shower that’s oddly efficient—no water waste, which I appreciate as someone who’s seen the difference between cheap and quality showerheads on the market.

If you’re looking for an authentic Wrocław experience, you’ve got a few key spots right outside the hotel. Stroll over to the “Café Kawa i Sztuka” on Ulica Księżycowa for a latte that tastes like it’s been brewed by a master; the barista will give you a free biscotti if you ask nicely. A few blocks away is the historic “Krakowska” restaurant, which serves pierogi that are actually worth the extra 2 PLN. For a relaxed afternoon, the park behind the university (Uniwersytet Wrocławski) is a great place to people‑watch and enjoy the smell of fresh-cut grass—especially on a sunny Saturday. If you’re into nightlife, the bars on Św. Floriana are a bit farther, but the “Młyn” pub on Głogowska Street offers a great selection of local craft beers. I’ve been warned about the “Barka” restaurant on Dolina, but honestly, the late‑night pizza there is a lifesaver after a long day of walking.

Overall, feels like a home base rather than a hotel. The staff knows the ins and outs of the city, the neighborhood is safe, and the rooms are clean without that corporate feel you sometimes get in big chains. The only downside is that the Wi‑Fi speed can lag during peak hours—though that’s a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience. For travelers who want a mix of convenience, charm, and genuine local flavor, this spot ticks almost every box. And if you’re rolling into Wrocław during the summer festival, the area around the fountain in the Market Square will be buzzing—just remember to bring a pair of comfortable shoes and a sense of adventure.

  • Andrei from Belarus (8/10)

Location was perfect: really few minutes walk from Market Square. Apartment was warm – that was especially important because the weather was unusual cold for April. It's an Old Town district but the tram stop is pretty close.

  • Peter from United Kingdom (9/10)

The property is exactly as the photos show, clean, modern and comfortable. It is in a side street a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square which is an ideal location to explore the city, which is very beautiful. Entry is gained by key code, which was perfect for us as we had a late flight that was delayed so we arrived well past the latest check in time but still had no problem booking in.

  • Tome from North Macedonia (9/10)

The apartment is great. We felt very comfortable. The location is number 1. Close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet.

  • Stait from United Kingdom (8/10)

The flat looks exactly like the photos and is positioned in a great location which was ideal for us visiting the Christmas markets. The host communicated well and gave us clear instructions on how to access the accommodation. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks!
