Solny Square Aparthotel Overview
Solny Square Aparthotel sits on pl. Solny, right where the old town’s cobblestones meet the modern buzz of Wrocław’s city center. I remember stepping out of the subway from Wrocław Śródmieście and the first thing that hit me was the scent of roasted coffee beans wafting from a tiny café on Grzegórska Street – the one that locals swear by for the best pierogi. From there, a quick walk across the square and you find the aparthotel’s entrance, its façade a tasteful blend of brick and glass that feels both contemporary and respectful of the surrounding historic buildings. The lobby is cozy, with a deep‑padded sofa and a few local art pieces that change every few months – a nice touch that keeps the space feeling fresh.
Check‑in was surprisingly smooth. The front desk clerk greeted me with a wide smile and a quick, “Welcome back, you know?” Even better, the room key was a touch‑screen card that you can swipe on the door – no fumbling with a metal key, which is a big plus if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage or just tired from a long flight. The apartment itself is spacious for a three‑star place: a living area that opens onto a small balcony overlooking the square, where you can sit with a coffee and listen to the distant chatter of tourists and street musicians. The kitchen is well equipped; I actually made a quick breakfast of eggs and toast, and the fridge was stocked with local milk and some fresh bread from a bakery down the block. The bathroom is clean, though the shower head feels a bit old‑fashioned – still functional, just a touch of vintage charm. The bed was plush, and the linens felt like a good night’s sleep is guaranteed (though the noise from the square can be a bit disruptive early in the morning, especially during the summer when the 9th of August parade passes right by).
Parking is a mixed bag. There’s a small underground lot right behind the aparthotel, but it’s limited and can fill up quickly on weekends. If you’re staying during the peak tourist season, I’d recommend parking on the street outside the block – just be prepared for a handful of meter spots and a friendly local who will offer a discount if you look like a tourist. The street itself is a great place to wander; a few blocks down on Książęca Street you’ll find a narrow cobblestone lane that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll, and if you’re craving a late‑night snack, there’s a hidden gem of a dumpling shop that serves the best wroclawki (Polish dumplings) you’ll ever taste. The neighborhood is lively but not overwhelming – you hear the distant hum of traffic, the occasional bark of a dog, and the subtle clink of glasses from a nearby bar. I would say the noise level is reasonable for a city center, especially if you plan to be out and about during the day. At night, the square dims, and the only sounds are the soft murmurs of the street and the occasional violin from a violinist playing for coins.
Overall, I’d say Solny Square Aparthotel is a practical, well‑situated home base for anyone wanting to explore Wrocław without paying a premium for a five‑star hotel. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and you’re close to the best local spots – from the historic market square to the quirky shops on Różany Street. If you’re planning a trip, drop by and you’ll find the place feeling like a quiet oasis in the heart of the city, with just enough local flavor to keep your stay interesting. It’s definitely a solid choice for budget travelers who still want a touch of comfort and convenience.
