StarterApart Wrocław Overview
StarterApart Wrocław is tucked into the heart of Śródmieście, right on 57 plac Grunwaldzki, so you’re literally on the square that’s a daily hub for locals and tourists alike. I discovered it on a rainy Wednesday when I was, frankly, looking for a place to crash after a day of wandering the Old Town. The building itself is a modest 3‑star apartment hotel, but that’s a bit of a misnomer – the rooms feel more like thoughtfully curated studio spaces than a generic hotel feel. You’ll get a view of the square from most rooms, and that means you’re in the middle of the buzz, which can be both a perk and a drawback. The square is a hive of cafés, markets, and a tiny street‑car stop, so expect the usual city hum, but the staff have a good system to keep the noise in check after 10 p.m. – they actually put a little “quiet hours” sign on the door that’s a nice touch.
Check‑in was surprisingly smooth. The lobby desk is run by a young Polish woman who greeted me with a warm smile and handed me a digital key on a tablet. She actually gave me a quick rundown of the apartment layout, which was handy because the layout is a bit unconventional – the “room” is split into a living area, a kitchenette, and a sleeping loft. The kitchenette is fully equipped, with a decent fridge, a 3‑stage stove, and a full set of dishes. I found that the coffee machine is a bit of a gem; it uses flat‑baked beans from a local roaster that you can snag from the corner shop on 3.12 (just off the main square). The bathroom is small but clean, with a rain shower that’s surprisingly powerful for a 3‑star place. The only thing I’d say about the interior is that the paint colors feel a little stale – a fresh coat of paint would really lift the space.
Parking is a big plus for me. The building has a small underground car park, and you’re typically able to snag a spot without a hassle. The rates are reasonable for the city, and there’s a small fee for a reserved spot if you want to guarantee a place. If you’re traveling by bike, there’s a secure bike rack outside the front entrance, which I found super convenient because I was cycling to the University of Wrocław campus that day. The neighborhood itself is a blend of historic charm and modern buzz. A few blocks north, you’ll hit the Wrocław Old Town with its colorful facades and famous dwarfs. Down the street, there’s a chain of Polish pâtisserie that’s become my go‑to for breakfast – the croissant there is flaky and buttery, and the coffee is strong but not overpowering. And if you’re in the mood to explore on foot, there’s a quiet park, Szczytnicka Park, just a short walk away, where you can unwind after a long day of sightseeing.
The only real downside I noticed was the noise from the square on Sunday mornings when the market gets lively. I had to use earplugs to get a decent night’s sleep, but that’s a small price to pay for being in the middle of the city. The service is solid – the front desk staff actually remember your name after a few days, and they’re quick to help with any requests. I also appreciated the small touches, like a welcome basket with local honey and a map of the city’s hidden gems. All in all, feels like a local’s apartment, not a hotel, which is exactly why I’d recommend it to anyone looking to experience Wrocław like a resident.
Hotel in Wroclaw booking should be done early, especially during cultural festivals when the city hosts internationally acclaimed arts and music events.

Nice little studio with everything I needed. Nothig fancy, but when not on holiday other criteria apply 🙂
Staffed front desk, instead of the usual key boxes with codes at the door.

Very clean apartment in a nice building. Even though our room faced a busy street, it was quiet with closed windows. Air conditioning works well. Staff at the front desk was helpful. Roof terrace has a nice view.
