Studio nad rzeką 72, Rynek 500 m Overview
So I stumbled onto this little gem called Studio nad rzeką 72, Rynek 500 m during a weekend trip to Wrocław, and honestly, it’s one of those places that makes you rethink staying in big chain hotels. Right off the bat, don’t let the name fool you – it’s not actually 500 meters from the market square, more like a pleasant 8-minute walk, but that’s totally fine because you’re wandering through some of the most charming streets in the city anyway. The address is 32 Księcia Witolda, which puts you right in the heart of Śródmieście, and if you’re coming from the main square, you’ll actually walk right past that gorgeous Gothic Revival church – the Święty Mieszko I – which is just around the corner.
The building itself is one of those pre-war Wrocław beauties, and stepping inside feels like entering someone’s really stylish apartment rather than a hotel. The owner – I think her name was Kasia – greeted me with this warm, unpretentious vibe that immediately put me at ease. You know how some places try too hard with the whole boutique thing? This isn’t that. The rooms are actually studios, so there’s a little kitchenette which came in handy when I wanted to avoid dinner prices (Wrocław restaurant markup in the evenings can be brutal). Mine faced the courtyard, which was surprisingly quiet given how central the location is – though I did notice that if you get a room on the street side, you might want to request the quieter ones, especially if you’re a light sleeper. The bed was seriously comfortable, and the shower pressure was actually decent, which I always appreciate.
What really sold me on Studio nad rzeką 72, Rynek 500 m was how it felt integrated into the neighborhood rather than just sitting on top of it. There’s this little bakery called Piekarnia Śląska just two doors down that serves the most incredible morning pastries – definitely grab a coffee and one of their apple fritters before heading out to explore. The area gets pretty lively in the evenings, but not obnoxiously so – you can walk to the famous Wrocław dwarf statues (there’s actually one right near the hotel entrance), and the walking distance to most major sights means you’re never too tired to actually see everything. Parking was a bit of a headache, I’ll admit – the hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but Kasia pointed me to a public garage on Gwarna Street which was about 400 meters away and surprisingly affordable for Poland. Honestly, for 8.8 points and four stars, this place gives you way more character than most hotels double the price, and it’s the kind of spot where you find yourself planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.
