So I ended up staying at the Tęczowa Apartment in Wrocław by Rent like home last month, and honestly, it was one of those finds that really made the trip. I’d been to Wrocław before and always stayed in the same few areas around the Market Square, but this place is tucked away on a quiet street in Stare Miasto that I’d literally never walked down – Tęczowa Street, which is kind of funny because “tęczowa” means rainbow in Polish. The apartment itself is on the third floor of this unassuming building, and when you step inside, there’s this really pleasant smell – I mean, it sounds weird, but it just smelled like… home. Clean, neutral, not that harsh hotel chemical thing you get everywhere else. The owner met me there around 3 PM, which was perfect because I’d just killed time wandering through the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice nearby.

What really sold me on this place was how it felt authentic to the neighborhood – you know what I mean? Not like some generic rental that could be anywhere. The building has that old Wrocław character with high ceilings and these beautiful original windows that let in tons of light. I actually woke up early the first morning just sitting by the window with coffee, watching people walk their dogs down below – there’s a little bakery two doors down that opens at 7 AM, and the smell of fresh bread would drift up through the street level. The kitchen was fully stocked, which saved me a ton since I wasn’t in the mood for restaurant food every night. There is one small thing though – the shower pressure wasn’t great, and I’m pretty sure it’s a building-wide water pressure issue rather than something specific to this unit. You get used to it, but just don’t expect that hotel spa experience, you know?

Location-wise, it’s actually kind of ideal – you’re still in the heart of Stare Miasto, but you’re off the main tourist drag. I walked to the Market Square in like eight minutes, and there’s this amazing little spot called Pod Fredro that serves the best żurek I’ve had in Poland, just three blocks away on Świdnicka Street. Parking was… well, it’s Wrocław, so don’t expect to just pull up outside. I had to park in one of those automated parking garages about five minutes away, which ran me around 25 złoty for the day. But honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of town. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM – I mean, you can still hear some street noise, but nothing crazy, and the windows block out most of it. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if Rent like home has other properties in the city.
