UP’arts Overview
UP’arts sits just off Podwale, right next to that quirky little café on Główna Street that serves the best pierogi in the city. Walking in, you’re greeted by a surprisingly bright lobby that feels more like a studio than a hotel. The staff are friendly enough, but I’ll warn you: the front desk is staffed by a couple of locals who love to chat, so if you’re in a hurry, you might have to wait a few minutes for a quick check‑in. They’ll still get you into your room quickly, and the keys are delivered in a little tin box that looks like it could double as a souvenir.
The rooms themselves are a mix of retro charm and practical comfort. The bed is a solid king with that classic 80s mattress that still feels firm. The sheets are crisp—no fancy linen, just clean cotton that’s breathable for the summer heat. On the bedside table, I found a small notebook with handwritten notes from previous guests; it’s a quirky touch that makes you feel a part of a community. The bathroom has a surprisingly deep shower that’s a great way to wake up after a long day of exploring the old town. I do wish the bathtub was a bit larger, but honestly, it’s more than enough for a quick bath.
If you’re looking for somewhere to dine, the little restaurant on the ground floor is a hidden gem. It’s called „Młyn” and specializes in traditional Polish dishes, though they also have a decent selection of pizzas if you’re in the mood for something more international. The kitchen is open, so you can see the chefs in action—there’s a real sense of authenticity here. I ordered the pierogi with mushroom filling, and they were so tender and flavorful that I almost forgot I was eating in a hotel. The staff are quick to recommend a local bar, so after dinner you can stroll over to the bars on Wrocławska Street, where the nightlife is lively but not too loud. If you’re a night owl, the rooms are usually quiet after midnight; the hotel’s location on Podwale means you’re close enough to the city center to hear the occasional honking of taxis, but the building is insulated well enough that you can sleep through it.
The best part about staying at is how close it is to the city’s most beloved spots. Just a short walk down the cobbled streets, you’ll hit the Market Square with its iconic Town Hall, then a few minutes more brings you to the Wrocław Cathedral and the beautiful Botanical Garden. For a more relaxed vibe, the park near the University of Wrocław is a great place to sit and people-watch. If you’re traveling with a car, parking is a bit of a hassle—there’s no dedicated parking lot, so you’ll need to find a street space on Podwale or the nearby streets, which can be tricky during rush hours. But for most travelers, that’s not a deal‑breaker, especially if you’re planning to walk most of the day.
All in all, feels like a cozy, well‑kept hideaway that blends modern convenience with a slice of local culture. The staff’s friendly chatter, the thoughtful little touches like the guest notebook, and the proximity to the city’s best attractions make it a solid choice for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Wrocław without breaking the bank. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town—maybe next time I’ll try the coffee shop on Św. Mikołaja Street, which I hear is the best espresso in the city.

The location and view on Odra river — probably the best in town. Breakfast box — small but it’s much better than the massive, typical hotel breakfast. Really big balcony with awesome views. I will return there.

5th floor apartment at Plac Jana Pawla ll 32, no 60. Clean bright modern apartment, good space for two people/two bedrooms. Long balcony overlooking park area and town view. Quiet location, a few minutes walk to the old town. Code entry to main door and apartment, so no keys which was great. Free underground parking if needed.
Everything you could need in the apartment. Tea and coffee was provided and light breakfast delivered in a box each morning, which was pretty much the same each day, but sufficient to get you going.Vitali from United States (9/10)
