Waterloo Apartment Overview

So I ended up staying at the Waterloo Apartment last month when I was in Wrocław for a few days, and honestly, it completely exceeded my expectations. I mean, I booked it mostly because of the location – Braniborska 70 is right in Stare Miasto, but not on one of those tourist-clogged streets where you can’t even hear yourself think. This spot’s actually on a quieter side street, which was such a relief after dealing with the chaos around the Market Square. The apartment itself is on the third floor, and while there’s no elevator, trust me, it’s worth the climb. The moment you step inside, there’s this really nice, subtle lavender scent – I’m not sure if it’s candles or just the way they clean, but it immediately made me feel relaxed.

The whole place feels thoughtfully put together, you know? The kitchen has all the basics you’d need, and there’s this little balcony that overlooks a courtyard – super private, and honestly, I spent way more time out there than I expected, just sipping coffee in the morning. The bed linens are surprisingly high-quality, and the neighborhood gets really quiet after about 10 PM, which I loved. Though I should mention the church bells from the nearby Cathedral of St. John the Baptist ring every hour, and they’re pretty loud – but honestly, waking up to that was kind of charming instead of annoying? The check-in process was smooth, the host left detailed instructions, and they even recommended this incredible pierogi place just two blocks away on Kazimierza Wielkiego that I never would have found otherwise.

What really sold me on the Waterloo Apartment was how it balances being tourist-friendly with feeling genuinely local. You’re close enough to walk to everything – the Japanese Museum, the Centennial Hall, even the train station in about fifteen minutes – but when you come back, it’s like you’re entering your own little bubble. The apartment stays cool even during the day, which was great since it was unusually warm when I was there, and the blackout curtains actually work, something you can’t take for granted. I did notice that the shower pressure could be better – it’s fine, just not amazing – but honestly, that’s such a small thing when everything else is so well taken care of. The Waterloo Apartment felt like the kind of place where the owners actually care about their guests’ experience, not just another listing. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Wrocław.
